Google Analytics Integration¶
Connect a GA4 property so Adwize can snapshot Admin config and apply accepted changes. This is a tool connector, not a reporting dump.
Event history is the mapped BigQuery export. This connection is Admin config. Adwize does not call the GA4 Data API, and it does not guess which dataset belongs to this property.
What Adwize can do¶
- List properties you can access
- Snapshot Admin config: property metadata, data streams, key/conversion events, custom dimensions and metrics, audiences, Google Ads links, attribution, data retention, and BigQuery export links
- Apply Admin changes after you accept them in Adwize
The numbers on the Integrations page are counts of those Admin objects. The full snapshot (event names, measurement IDs, linked Ads customers) is stored for agents. We do not store hits, sessions, or reports.
What Adwize does not do¶
- Query reports or realtime metrics
- Replace a warehouse connection for historical KPIs
- Publish or change GTM from this connector
Setup¶
On the Google Cloud project that owns the OAuth client:
- Enable Google Analytics Admin API.
- On the OAuth consent screen, add:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/analytics.readonlyhttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/analytics.edit- Add the Authorized redirect URI
…/api/v1/google-analytics/callback.
Connecting GTM first is not enough. Analytics uses a separate token and must show Analytics permissions on Google's consent screen.
Then in Adwize:
- Go to Settings > Integrations and open Google Analytics.
- Click Connect with Google and grant Admin read/edit. If you already connected with only Tag Manager scopes, disconnect and connect again.
- Load properties from Google and pick the one Adwize should manage.
- Refresh the snapshot when you want an updated copy of Admin config.
When Adwize proposes an Admin change, it stays pending until you click Accept. Until then, nothing is written back to Google.
For live site events, use Google Tag Manager or the Custom API.
